Whether travellers are looking for a partner to join them at a game or someone to join them and explore a destination after watching their heroes perform, TourBar allows members to sign up for free and register their upcoming travel plans. Once registered, members simply tick ‘sports’ as their interest and reason for travelling solo and then begin the journey of matching with someone else doing just the same.
When it comes to those travelling solo for sport, figures released by TourBar share that predictably 78%% of the members are male. However, 10%% of those travelling to the UK alone for sport are from India, whilst Turkey and Egypt share the second spot with 7.2%% each of the respondents. A further 5.4%% of solo sports fans were found to be travelling to the UK from the USA and 3.6%% travelling to the UK from Italy.
TourBar’s Public Relations Manager, Anastasia Zolotova, added: “Sport brings people together who share a common interest no matter where they are from. With the huge international sporting events such as the Rio 2016 Olympics and Virgin Money London Marathon, TourBar wants to encourage all those sports fans travelling this spring and summer season to forget going it alone and sign up for TourBar to meet a partner to enjoy the journey and the game – you might just meet your perfect match!”
